Trondheim, Norway, 11 March - Arctic Silicon devices AS (ASD), the ultra low power mixed mode chip company, announced today that industry veterans John Urwin and Bjørn Fossum have joined the board of ASD as directors. The election of the new board members strengthens ASD's industry experience and commercial capabilities and is an integral part of ASD's commercialization strategy.
John Martin Urwin is based in UK and has more than 25 years of experience from the international semiconductor industry. He was on the original team of Wolfson Microelectronics where he served for 14 years as COO building the company from a small design house with an annual turnover of £1 mill to global player of analog semiconductors with an annual turnover of £ 115 mill.
Bjørn Fossum is based in Norway and has more than 35 years of experience from the electronics industry. In 1984 he co-founded Seatex AS, now Kongsberg Seatex AS, a leading international provider of marine electronics specializing in precision positioning and motion sensing systems. He has previously served on the board of ChipCon (now part of Texas Instruments) and Nordic Semiconductors.
After the extension, the board of ASD consists of Jens Petter Falck (chairman), Hans Olav Torsen, John Martin Urwin, Bjørn Fossum and Olav Lundquist .
