Built the world’s leading electronic market place for freight derivatives
International Maritime Exchange ASA (Imarex) was established by a team of former ship brokers in 2001. The aim was to replace the large number of bilateral freight agreements with a fully functioning electronic market place. Imarex has been one of the innovators in the field and became already in 2002 one of the leading market places for tanker fright derivatives. In 2005 Imarex was listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange. Through organic and strategic growth Imarex has since developed to an internationally leading company within the clearing of freight, seafood and commodity markets, and a world leading provider of analyses for the aquaculture and fishing industry.
